My Practice

I am a multi-discipline artist who explores a variety of materials and mediums in the effort to achieve aesthetic perfection through ephemeral mortality. The theme of the natural world is deeply rooted in my practice; as a result I am able to tap into an unlimited resource. Most of my artworks and techniques intersect the line between art and craft in the effort of creating something which is not only beautiful but also functional. This concept seeps through each of my carefully nurtured artworks, helping them evolve and flourish into fully aesthetically pleasing specimens.
Deploying a growing knowledge of techniques and processes I delve into a variety of mediums such as Printmaking, Sculpture, Ceramics, Installation, Book Making, Digital and Chemical Photography. These processes are the life blood of my practice.
Artists such as Ken Currie, Anslem Kiefer, The Starn Twins, Andy Goldsworthy and Jerry Uelsmann have influenced many of my creations over the last few years. Their themes of nature, decay and conflict inspire my colour palette and imagery.
Through my artistic miens I aim to draw attention to the new evolving relationship between personal creativity and environmental responsibility. I hope to highlight the beauty and fragility of our natural surroundings, and how much we have to lose if we do not protect our environment for future generations.
